*Sigh.* This is another one of those things that makes me happy and sad at the same time. David Tyree’s catch in the Super Bowl: sure it was a great highlight. Sure I would have loved it if I was a Giants fan.  But at the same time, I literally can’t allow myself to accept that it’s a great play. The green in my blood just keeps the word “lucky lucky lucky lucky” pumping through my head. I’ve had this argument countless times with both Giants fans and non-Eagle NFL fans. They all say things like “greatest Super Bowl catch ever,” and I say things like “Eli Manning sucks and got lucky. Who the F is DAVID TYREE ANYWAY??”

I’m sure I’m wrong, but I just can’t bring myself to admit it that that was a great play.  Anyway, StickyHead Tyree just got cut.  So there– he DOES suck.  It WAS lucky.  Which would make me feel great, except for the fact that the goddamn Giants won that f*** Super Bowl. WTF.  Can we like Quantum Leap back in time and have Sam doing something to make sure that just never happened?

Plaxico Burress, aka “The Only Reason Eli Manning Was Ever Good” (T.O.R.E.M.W.E.G.) has been sentenced to two years in a plea deal. Whoopsy daisy! Aside from being psyched that TOREMWEG is outttaaaaaheeeeere for awhile, let this be a lesson to anyone in the NFC East who wins a Super Bowl other than the birds. You. Will. Go. To. Jail.

Waa Waa Plax

Was just walking down the street with a good friend of mine who’s from New York (he’s a Jets fan, so it’s OK). I asked him if Jets fans hate the Giants, and he said “oh yeah, definitely.” I then asked if they hate them as much as we hate the Giants, to which he responded: “Nobody can match Philly hate. Your hate runs deep. It’s like natural gas resources in Azerbaijan–no one knows how much is really in there, but there’s definitely a whole shitload.”

For some reason I’m happy that Ginas resigned Eli. Despite that Super Bowl win, I keep feeling like at some point his face is going to melt off and it will finally be revealed that he’s just a little baby or an alien lizard or something underneath. Basically I can’t shake the feeling that he actually just sucks, and always will suck, and I’m not now and never will be afraid of a Ginas team with him as the quarterback.
Or maybe it’s just that I’m happy I’ll be able to keep making fun of him for years to come.

Just got a comment on our post about eating at the Tick Schlock Diner near the meadowlands.  Jffry_frmr@yahoo.com says (and I quote): “O yea cause the food in PA is awesome! You’re a tool, philadelphia is a dump, I can get a better cheesesteak in an elementary school cafeteria.”

It’s challenge time!  Jeffrey Ginasfan, we at Philavania would like to know what elementary school cafeteria serves cheesesteaks as good as those found in our dump of a home, Philadelphia. Wanna do a taste test?
